Hello!

I’m Debbie, a nurse, a mom, and the heart behind this site.

This space was born from my own NICU journey, one that changed everything I thought I knew about motherhood, medicine, and strength. When my water broke early, I was thrown into a world I had once only understood from a professional lens. Suddenly, I wasn’t the one explaining procedures or reassuring families. I was the one being monitored, waiting, and praying.

Even with my nursing background, nothing prepared me for the emotional rollercoaster that came with seeing my baby in an isolette, surrounded by machines and wires. I knew the medical side of what was happening, but as a mother, the experience hit me in a way I could never have imagined.

That’s when I realized there was a need for a space that combined both knowledge and empathy, a place where NICU parents could learn, heal, and connect. That’s how this site came to life.

Here, you’ll find a mix of heartfelt stories, educational posts, and practical advice for every stage of your journey. My goal is to bridge the gap between what we learn in hospitals and what we live as parents. I write to help you understand what’s happening medically, but also to remind you that you’re doing an incredible job, even on the days that feel impossible.

What You’ll Find Here

  • Educational posts on pregnancy complications like PPROM, placental abruption, and preterm birth explained simply, from both a medical and personal perspective.
  • NICU stories that bring comfort and connection — from hospital days to life after discharge.
  • Motherhood reflections that remind you it’s okay to feel overwhelmed, hopeful, and grateful all at once.
  • Support and encouragement for the quiet moments when you just need someone who understands.

Every post here is written with the same heart I carried through those NICU days, one filled with fear, love, and faith. Whether you’re a new NICU parent, a seasoned one, or simply someone who wants to better understand this journey, I hope you find peace, strength, and encouragement within these pages.

Because this isn’t just my story. It’s ours. Each NICU parent carries their own blend of worry and hope, but we’re all connected by the same fierce love for our babies. My mission is to remind you that you are never alone in this.

So, take a deep breath, grab your coffee, and settle in. Browse through the stories, read the guides, and join our growing community of parents who understand exactly what you’re feeling, because we’ve been there too.
